Short programmes built around one skill — the right fit when you don't need ongoing tuition but want to fix a single weakness fast.
What a workshop is
A workshop is a short, focused programme — usually 2 to 4 sessions — aimed at one clear goal, with a visible before-and-after by the end. It draws on the same LearnUp frameworks and materials as the regular classes, just narrowed to a single skill.
Workshops we run
The most common focuses (and we'll scope a custom one on request):
- Composition clinic — using BLAST → SPARK to make description and narrative vivid and well-structured.
- Comprehension & summary technique — reading the question properly, answering precisely, and squeezing a summary down to the marking points.
- Editing & grammar accuracy — targeted drilling on the errors that lose marks.
- Exam-paper technique — timing and strategy practice on LearnUp's Bronze/Silver/Gold mock papers.
- AEIS crash-prep — pre-test focus on the writing and the Part 2 sections (comprehension / cloze / grammar / vocabulary), taught bilingually.
Who it's for
Students who don't need full weekly tuition but want a fast breakthrough on one thing — sharpening technique before an exam, or fixing a specific weakness that keeps costing marks.
About your LearnUp tutor
LearnUp is a solo teaching practice. Every session is taught personally by Vivek Hathiramani, the founder and only tutor — the person who plans the work is the person in the room. Vivek writes all of LearnUp's material himself: the BLAST and SPARK writing frameworks, the FLARE argument framework, the comprehension and summary scaffolds, and the full Bronze/Silver/Gold mock papers for PSLE, N-Level, O-Level and AEIS English (and Secondary Chemistry). Many are free to download in the resource library. AEIS sessions are taught bilingually, in English and Mandarin.
