BLAST
20 plug-and-play paragraphs for secondary creative writing
What's inside
BLAST teaches Singapore secondary students how to write vividly about feelings — the kind of writing that scores well on O-Level English Paper 1 narrative compositions. Twenty pre-written paragraphs cover the full emotional range students need: anxiety, terror, anger, jealousy, sadness, joy, pride, calm. Each paragraph is built around four channels — Body Language, Action, Speech, Thought — woven into a single exam-ready scene. The method: memorise verbatim, then swap two to four marked words on exam day to fit the prompt. A polished BLAST paragraph in under a minute.
How to use it
Follow the method in the workbook — read aloud, cover-and-recite, check, sleep on it, recite again the next morning. One paragraph per day, six days a week, finishes the workbook in under a month. On exam day, pick the paragraph that matches the prompt's emotion, swap the marked words, add a sentence either side. Done in under a minute.
