BLAST — Advanced Edition
Twenty exam-grade emotional paragraphs at Sec 1+ level — restrained diction, subordinate clauses, no crutch-words.
What's inside
The Advanced Edition of BLAST, calibrated for sharper Sec 1 writers and above. The 20 emotion paragraphs are rebuilt at a higher register — every paragraph contains at least one subordinate clause, the imagery is restrained rather than hyperbolic, and crutch-words like very, really, suddenly, amazing, nice, a lot are deliberately absent. The swap-slot mechanic is the same as the main BLAST workbook (memorise the spine, change two to five anchoring nouns to fit the prompt), but the slots are richer and the swap suggestions more nuanced. Designed for students working toward O-Level composition.
How to use it
Follow the method in the workbook — read aloud, cover-and-recite, check, sleep on it, recite again the next morning. One paragraph per day, six days a week, finishes the workbook in under a month. On exam day, pick the paragraph that matches the prompt's emotion, swap the marked words, add a sentence either side. Done in under a minute.
